• Leading docents for the Historic Alvarado House currently located at the Del Mar Fairgrounds

• Storage and archive coordinator for Del Mar history items such as pictures, books, DVDs and other historic items and artifacts
• Tour coordinator for the public of historic buildings and sites in Del Mar
• Educator of Del Mar history to the public

  • Developing and implementing a downtown "Go Green" programs to improve special event recycling, downtown container recycling and improved commercial area recycling
  • Developed, installed 11 downtown dual recycling/trash cans and beginning a pilot program to track diversion from these receptacles to qualify for a state conservation grant
  • Developed, installed 7 downtown Del Mar benches along Camino Del Mar and 15th Street
  • Continuing to identify and fund new streetscape and other design improvements to improve the pedestrian experience in downtown Del Mar
  • Working on transportation and parking improvement issues with local and regional resources
  • Continuing to work with the City and Form Based Code Citizen Committee to educate the community on the benefits of implementing a Form Based Code for Del Mar
  • Continuing to identify programs to beautify downtown Del Mar

Promotion/Events Committee, Chair Mary Lou Amen

• Developing cultural events such as art and music programs for downtown Del Mar to encourage residents and visitors to stay, dine, and play in downtown Del Mar
• Continuing to expand and develop signature community events such as Summer Solstice, Taste and Art Stroll in Del Mar, Annual Holiday Tree Lighting, Sunset Soiree and Closing Day at the Races and other special events  Click Here
• Continue to host Del Mar Village restaurant tastings, vintner dinners, grand openings and community celebrations
• Continuing to support collaborative events such as the Breast Cancer 3Day Walk through Del Mar, Del Mar History event, Fairground and Racetrack Events etc.
• Continuing to work with new ideas for special events in Del Mar such as Film Festivals, Bike and Running Races etc.

Economic Restructuring Committee, Chair Jim Coleman

• Produce and distribute downtown Del Mar Business Directories and Maps. See Del Mar Business Directory
• Conduct business seminars and breakfasts for downtown merchants to educate downtown Del Mar businesses on key local and regional issues
• Communicate with the public through newsletters and eblasts.  See Newsletters and Eblast Archives
• Help to promote tourism for downtown businesses with events and media outreach
• Continue to expand the DMVA website business resources including, Interactive Del Mar Village Map, Listings for Special Events, Things to do in and around Del Mar, Downtown Happy Hours and Promotions, Del Mar Facts and History so much more!
• Promoting downtown Del Mar businesses through internet, media, events, cooperative advertising and other outreach marketing efforts for all seasons
• Sponsoring and assisting in development of the annual Del Mar Times Community and Visitors Guide
• Working with the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club and Del Mar Fairgrounds to cross promote and support Del Mar Community events and programs
