For Immediate Release Press Contact: Jen Grove or Susan Ivison 858-755-1179
Del Mar – June 3, 2009 – If you’re near Powerhouse Park in Del Mar and wondering what’s nearby be sure and stop by the Del Mar Visitor/Community Information Center. Housed under a green and white pop-up canopy on the grassy area in front of the Powerhouse, the Center is sponsored by Del Mar Village Association (DMVA) and City of Del Mar and run by volunteers who cheerfully answer questions and provide information on downtown Del Mar restaurants, merchants and hotels. The Visitors/Community Center is also stocked full with restaurant menus, maps, coupons, brochures and flyers listing Del Mar shopping and services.
“The DMVA Visitor/Community Information Center is a personal way of sharing the wonderful things Del Mar has to offer,” said DMVA executive director Jen Grove. “Many of Del Mar’s summer beach visitors and even locals aren’t aware of the many restaurants and shops just up the hill so it’s a great way to connect the beach with the Village area. It’s also a great way for our volunteers to communicate what they love about the area while enjoying the oceanview,” she added. The Visitor Center is open every Saturday starting June 20th until Labor Day from 11am to 3pm.
Volunteers receive free parking and a snack courtesy of DMVA at the Del Mar Snack Shack. What a way to spend a day! To volunteer or for more information on the Del Mar Visitors’ Center please contact the DMVA via email: info@delmarmainstreet.com or by phone: 858.755.1179.

The Del Mar Village Association (DMVA) is a non-profit organization made up of Del Mar residents, business owners and property owners who are dedicated to working together to enhance the vitality of the Village while preserving the community’s history and unique character. |
