Del Mar – August 26, 2009 – Two exciting boutiques recently opened their doors at the Del Mar Plaza offering shoppers fabulous clothing, furniture and gift items found nowhere else in San Diego. Well-known on the East Coast and internationally with its online store, Saratoga Saddlery offers high quality equestrian style boots, hats, dresses, belts, shirts, pants and more. The boutique caters to the horse aficionado whether they’re seeking a soft, romantic English Country look or the hip, rugged edge often connected with Western styles. Its Plaza location seems only natural with the close proximity to the Del Mar Race Track and fairgrounds. Temporarily located on the street level of the Del Mar Plaza next to Rumi Café, Saratoga Saddlery will make its permanent home on the top level of the Plaza this Fall.

For those wanting to be one step ahead of the fashion trends, The Southern Cross is the place to shop. Offering clothing lines for women and young children, home gift items, as well as antique and new furniture, this boutique prides itself in carrying fashions from up and coming local designers before they’ve became the rage. Carrying dresses, tops, pants, jewelry as well as frames and chandeliers along with wrought iron furniture, this boutiques’ shabby chic, beachy décor feels like you’re shopping in your best friend’s living room. Located next to Harvest Ranch, on the Plaza’s mid level, The Southern Cross also offers wine and cheese nights and special shopping offers one Friday a month. Be sure to stop by and visit to get your name on the mailing list for upcoming event dates.
