Del Mar Kicks Off Beach Season With Summer Solstice Event
Del Mar – October 5, 2009 – Del Mar’s Summer Solstice event is the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of summer. Offering delectable culinary creations, a selection of fine wines and brews, and a fabulous silent auction, the popular annual event is hosted by the Del Mar Village Association (DMVA) with the support from the City of Del Mar. The celebration will be held on Thursday, June 17, 2010 from 5pm – 8pm at Powerhouse Park, 1658 Coast Boulevard in Del Mar, just overlooking Del Mar Beach.
Guests can nibble on delicious offerings from Del Mar’s finest restaurants, enjoy a variety of selections from California wineries and breweries, bid on incredible items and opportunities during the silent auction, as well as savor a fantastic sunset ocean view.
“This is a wonderful time to gather with friends as well as meet new ones,” said past Summer Solstice event chair, Mary Lou Amen. “We typically sell out each year as it’s become known as the event not to be missed.”
Early bird tickets go on sale in July and will be available online via the DMVA website www.delmarmainstreet.com or by calling the DMVA office 858.755.1179.
The DMVA is also looking for event sponsors, restaurant and winery participants, as well as donated auction items or gift certificates for the Summer Solstice silent auction. Proceeds from the event benefit the DMVA, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the vitality of the historic Del Mar Village.
